ITS INTERESTING THAT ALL OF THE BAD REVIEWS ARE WAY IN THE BACK.
Click beyond 6,7,8,9 etc. Seems these are the real reviews. Buyer beware! I was planning on going myself but I don't think I will waste my money after finding out what this show is really about and the lack of creativity.

SHEN YUN PERFORMING ARTS
If Eccles Theater continues to offer Shen Yun to Utah audiences, the performance should be marketed for what it is--a political performance by a disenfranchised ex-pat political group.

I WOULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS IF I COULD
This is nothing more than a propaganda performance by Falun Gong. I was deeply disappointed that the Ordway allowed such false advertising. Multiple people walked out and in the end our family felt robbed of $700. Do NOT waste your time or money on this performance.

MISLEADING PROMOTION - SAVE YOUR MONEY
Like some other reviewers - I am posting because it is only fair to present the facts - then you make the decision. We did not read any reviews in advance or would not have wasted our time. Beyond the overt propaganda that is not advertised in advance - the performances were colorful, sometimes artistic, but uninspiring and boringly repetitive. The on-screen animations were primitive to say the least. After 10 minutes you have seen it all. And then there is the Falun Gong propaganda - this is a pseudo-artistic front for political fundraising

NOT WORTH THE MONEY
I would not recommend this show. It is way overpriced. The tickets should be around $30 or $20. The show is not historical but political. You feel like you have been ripped off after that show. Perfect example of how a good marketing can sell anything. I deeply regret getting tickets for it because they were so expensive.

IRONIC
First of all, the so called "traditional" dances in the performance are actually the reinvented and modernized folk dances that the Communist Part led to produce since the cultural revolution. And even the small shreds of authenticity left in these dances were lost due to the lack of production value in this particular show. And of course after a few numbers the show launches into a over-the-top vilification, even if well deserved, of the Chinese government. The eerie part is that the show resembled the kind of propaganda the aforementioned government fond of utilize, in all aspects other than, again, production values. So unfortunately, to a Chinese, watching this show is like seeing a badly made vampire film where the newly bitten tries to attack its master, with cheap blood and gore o'plenty. I would highly recommend this show if that's your thing.

DOGMA, AND MEDIOCRE DANCING
The dancing was good, but repetitive and there were only two or three dancers that were truly exceptional. Your money is much better spent on Circque du Soleis, modern dance or ballet. I feel a bit ripped off by this expensive performance. I also thought the thesis of the performance was offensive. I am fine when people worship who they wish, but when Shen Yun shoves their beliefs in my face, well it is simply offensive. When the words were scrolled on the screen of the almighty and that evolution was a dangerous idea i felt like this theater company has an agenda... and they clearly do. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOW.
